Currently there are open vacancies (full-time, permanent employment) for
paediatric nurses in a hospital of Sörmland County. The position is open at the emergency department, working in all areas such as surgery, orthopaedics, ENT and paediatrics. They care for children from 0 to 18 years old and have 15 beds. There are around 40 employees working in teams of practical nurses and registered nurses. Every team is changed every six weeks to maintain the competence.
The work of the department also includes e-learning, weekly management and team meetings and planning days. There is a collaboration with Stockholm, Uppsala (Oncology paediatrics) and Gothenburg (cardiology paediatrics) when the children are in need of specialist care. The staff is working every 2 of 5 weekends. There is a possibility to work night shifts if the candidate is used to night shift work and feels comfortable with the responsibilities of the functions required for this type of work.
The starting salary will be 35.000 SEK gross per month.
The nurses working in Sweden have a
high professional status; they represent an autonomous sector, with its own organisation. They can perform independently complex medical tasks and they receive constant education and training. The nurses are organised in Nursing Colleges, which contribute to the development of nursing science and its professional management. In Sweden it is common that experienced nurses are head of departments and participate at the management of the hospital.
